Inspiration

We had a variety of interests and skills we wanted to gain this hackathon, and with the theme of improving quality of life we thought about what technology could make our lives as college students a little easier.

What it does

We began working on 3 separate projects from the start, with plans to join them in the end. Utilizing the dragonboard 410c, we programmed an infrared receiver to control an LED strip from an IR blaster on an android phone. This allows one to customize the lighting in a room with ease. We also used Always AI and the dragonboard to create an computer vision program and created a home server with the dragon board to easily back up data from your personal computer. We plan to join these, with potential for the camera to link to the lights to dim the room or turn off the lights automatically when you fall asleep and turn them on when your up.

Challenges we ran into

We had a lot of issues getting the Always AI packages to work with the dragonboard, as well as issues connecting the dragonboard to wifi.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We stuck with our original plan and equipment, determined to make it work in the end.

What we learned

We learned a lot about programming Linux based devices and technology we had never used before.
