Happy Hour Pub Crawl Planner

Inspiration

My friends and I like trying out new bars in new neighbourhoods. Planning a happy hour pub crawl becomes incredibly difficult with having to find information on the bar location, timings, happy hour timings and prices of drinks to ensure it is affordable. After years of struggling with this every weekend, we decided to do something about it for everyone else who also struggles with planning a night out!

What it does

It asks you for the neighbourhood you want to visit, and the number of bars you want to go to. It then tells you which bars in that neighbourhood have a happy hour, the timings of the happy hour and the prices of drinks during happy hour, making this planning process extremely easy and fun!

How we built it

We built this in AWS Partyrock and enabled a chat feature in it to help you ask more questions about the suggested bars and make your plan even more customized for you!

Challenges we ran into

Engineering the prompt takes practice. It requires a lot of iterations to get the right prompt so that users are asked for the least information and are presented with the most relevant results.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Easy to use, clean interface, and relevant results.

What we learned

Early users loved it. We experimented with family and friends and they have all been using the app to plan nights out. We've learned that there is so much more we can do with this especially on providing more information to users which make their pub crawls more memorable and easier to plan.
