Inspiration

I want to build a personal website in the future, but I need a lot more practice, so I decided to build one for my dog, Happy. When I saw this super-chill hackathon, I felt like it was a great opportunity for me to continue working on this project, since most hackathons don't allow you to submit previous projects.

What it does

It showcases Happy's personality, skills, and toys, and allows visitors to get a better understanding of her and visit her instagram page.

How I built it

I used mostly HTML and CSS, but I used a bit of javascript as well.

Challenges I ran into

I signed up when this hackathon was already halfway through which means I only had a few hours so I have to not be too ambitious with my planning and just add a few features. I also am pretty new to web development, so there were a lot of features I had to learn how to add.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Since my dog is a doge, I made the fonts comic sans so it's super dank and memey. I also colored the site logo that my friend helped draw, and it turned out pretty great.

What I learned

I felt like it was really fun to try to write from a dog's perspective, because we really don't know how dogs talk, humans just assume they talk with incorrect grammar in a really cute voice but who knows? Maybe dogs talk really seriously in a deep scary voice but we'll never know!

What's next for happy

I need to improve the responsiveness feature. I also want to learn how to host this site on github but i unfortunately didn't have time to complete it by the deadline. More art and more efficient styling could also improve this website.
