Inspiration
The inspiration behind Thomas' New Boomer Game is the old-school nature of Thomas' Old Boomer Game as well as the arcade theme that RoseHack had.
What it does
Thomas' New Boomer Game is reminiscent of old school arcade games; you play em for 5 minutes, get bored, give us money, play some more, then move on to see all the cool and shiny things that everyone else made.
How we built it
We built this game in Unity.
Challenges we ran into
There were a lot of challenges we ran into but one of the most prominent is the fact that the enemies sometimes move off the stage.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of making a complete (somewhat) project. A couple hours in, we were losing hope and some of us left to go back home either to sleep or study so we worked kind of on-and-off for a while but in the end, we ended up with at the very least, something presentable.
What we learned
We learned a lot of things: Hao - I learned a lot about tilemapping as well as animations in Unity. Thomas - As a beginner to Unity, I thoroughly enjoyed learning the process of game development on it. Michael - I learned a lot about Unity and how objects interact with each other in the environment.
What's next for Hao's Old Boomer Game
Honestly, we're not really sure but we have high hopes for it. Originally, we were planning on having 3 stages, but due to time constraints, that was not possible.
