Inspiration

We are inspired to bring content to children that is age-appropriate and reassuring, especially amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe that providing facts in a story format is calming and relatable, and we hope our book can be used as a tool for parents to help their children understand what they might be hearing, feeling, or experiencing.

What it does

As mentioned above, our book is a tool for parents, grandparents, and educators (among others) to use in teaching children about the topic of COVID-19.

How we built it

This was a true team effort! Megan and Sarah Grafton Irving (sisters in law!) worked on the storyline/theme - writing by Megan Irving, illustrations by Sarah Grafton Irving, and bringing everything together was our graphic designer, Rosalind Hutton.

Challenges we ran into

The intersection of technology and art. We are very thankful for talented friends.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We truly believe this is a useful and well put-together book to help children feel informed.

What we learned

Creation is much better with friends and input is important.

What's next for Hannah Hedgehog and the COVID-19 Pandemic

Who knows! Maybe she will continue to learn more about diseases or science.
