Inspiration comes from
Uber service AirBNB service
What it does
It helps people to find help to do small jobs like
- cleaning
- lawn care
- baby-sitting
- language and fine arts learning
- delivery
- cooking
- much more!
How I built it
We started from scratch with only idea. During hackathon opening we have found a team of 2 developers and one enterpreneur, and joined our forces to create a working prototype and assemble idea details in best way possible
Challenges I ran into
Native android app was created by scratch using Klarna services and Microsoft Azure cloud. It was lots of small glitches and problems from google maps keys to azure log subsystem: 48 hours is a very small amount of time. Our main developer had roughly 10 hours of sleep, working all the time. He have more than hundred git commits and thousands lines of code done.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We designed our idea around simplicity of Uber service and big data analytics of AirBnb. An MVP app is fully featured to show main concepts of what we have to offer, while Azure backend provides us with a solid foundation for scalability.
What I learned
It was hard. It was fun. It was challenging. We need to plan our minimum software even better: some features was dropped along the way. We need to discuss lots of details and check different design options. And we can work even harder.
What's next for on-demand service
Our next stop is Slush conference. We are looking forward to present our app here and have great ideas how it can be developed into full-featured business whose main goal is to make our life better.
