Inspiration
We thought about what we should do for our first Cutie Hack project and thought Hangman would be a nice way to dip our toes.
What it does
Our Hangman game is a 2 player game where player 1 enters a one-word no-space for player 2 to guess. As the player 2 guesses, the hangman is being built in front of your eyes.
How we built it
We used C++ and Unreal engine for the graphics.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge we faced was color-coding specific characters that represented whether or not those specific characters were correct. Another challenge was trying to set up a space where we were able to collaborate with each other on the code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of solving the color coding part of our code as it was one of the most difficult we faced during our time coding in this Cutie Hack. As well as seeing our game being brought to life.
What we learned
One of the most important things we learned was how to work with one another effectively and communicate our ideas we had to each other to better understand our vision of Hangman. And also how to make a concept within our heads into a reality onto code and see it function and run properly.
What's next for Hangman Game
The Hangman Game is just the beginning for us. It was a test of our skills and seeing where we were at as well as how capable we were of working with one another.
