Inspiration
Never knowing wtf to wear.
What it does
User catalogs the clothing, shoes, and accessory items in their closet via - manual entry, scanning sku number or importing from 'shopping cart' if buying online Manual entry will require - clothing article type, color, fabric, wash type (i.e. hand wash, regular wash, dry clean only) if applicable Users will be able to favorite certain clothing items Users will be able 'archive' clothing articles - no longer fits, trash, will donate, etc [consider for future iterations] Users will be reminded to take their dry clean only clothes to cleaners after 3 wears
Once a user has their closet information uploaded they can reference the closet optimizer for outfit suggestions. Outfit suggestions will be based on a specific set of user inputs. Inputs include: Weather - Event Category (business, sporting, food/drink, etc.) - Event Type (Professional, Casual, Romantic, etc) The app's algorithm should take into account the following -What piece of clothing goes best for the weather -How recent has it been since the user wore that article of clothing -What's best for the event category and type -Users can log the outfit that they wore and upload pictures for future reference. -User should be able to tweak suggestions from the app by rotating articles in/out of given suggestions
How I built it
It is not yet built.
Challenges I ran into
I do not have an engineer to build it.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Applying to the Colony5 hackathon.
What I learned
What's next for Hangerz
Once the app is built, I'd like to pitch to retailers. A user will have an opportunity to gain more hangers - aka more space to log clothing - in exchange for sharing their closet data with retailers. Retailers can use this data to them with specific ads based on the users' size, style & closet history (things that are ruined or retired).
