We’ve all been there: texting five different group chats, trying to figure out who’s free, what people feel like doing, and when. Even simple hangouts become logistical nightmares. Most coordination tools feel too formal—like scheduling a meeting at work—not ideal for a casual beer or an impromptu late-night walk.

Hang Easy was born out of this frustration: we wanted a super simple, intuitive way for friends to casually link up—without pressure, without spreadsheets, and without the "so what’s the plan?" limbo.

🔧 How We Built It Platform: Built with Bolt.new for rapid, no-code deployment and clean UI/UX.

UI/UX: Prioritized fluid, beautiful interactions—suggesting vibes over structure. You can see who’s around, what people are down for, and jump in.

Backend logic: Used Bolt logic blocks to handle user inputs like "I'm bored", "Who's around?", or "Let's hang?", triggering context-aware suggestions.

Real-time presence detection: Friends can mark themselves "available", "maybe later", or "off the grid".

Optional matching algorithm: Suggests who might be down to hang based on past behavior and mutual interests.

💡 What We Learned Simplicity wins. Most people don’t want another tool—they want an invitation to fun that feels natural.

Micro-intentions matter. Saying “maybe” or “down later” matters more in social planning than a hard yes/no.

UI is everything. In a social tool, the feeling matters as much as the function.

⚔️ Challenges Building something that felt light and playful but still functional was tricky. Overbuilding led to friction.

Handling edge cases like people spamming the vibe board, or making sure time zones didn’t ruin the flow.

We also debated: how much structure is too much? How do we keep it casual without becoming another group calendar?

AI-based mood suggestion (“You seem free and happy—maybe invite Alex to a walk?”).

Integrations with iMessage or WhatsApp to auto-sync friends.

"Vibe matching" using emojis, voice memos, or ambient check-ins.
