Inspiration

We all are living in an era of technology, but still use old methods which aren't just tedious but also cause a lot of harm to nature.

Each year 100 billion business cards are produced worldwide leading to the potential loss of approaching 6 million trees. Perhaps more shocking is the fact that within a week after receiving a business card, almost 90% of them are thrown away. Some of these cards will be recycled, but many will find their way into landfill.

42% of wood harvested globally is used to make paper, often leading to deforestation and habitat destruction. The use of so many trees to make paper is of major concern since 50% of all terrestrial carbon is stored in trees – making them a crucial buffer to ward off climate change.

What it does

Handy Cards is a new way of storing business cards on your mobiles which can be used anywhere anytime. It is an application that supports NFC (near field communication) for you to send your business cards with just a simple tap. There might be changes in locations, contact details etc but be rest assured with just a little change all the people having your business cards are gonna be updated.

How we built it

We have created a demo site with secured authentication from SAWO. We have also created an excellent UI for business cards using SWIFT UI.

Challenges we ran into

The major challenge that we ran into was definitely time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to give it our best in whatever time we had. Moreover we are happy even though we weren't able to complete it for hackathon but we would definitely continue working on it.

What we learned

We have learnt that even a little change in life style of people can bring in a huge impact on environment.

What's next for HandyCards

We also look forward to :

Giving people a chance to display bought NFTs in a unique way.
Integrating Online payment methods into business cards.
Letting people having business card book an appointment.
For security purposes having logs of people your business card is forwarded it to and moreover it also allows you to delete it for someone.
You can control the rarity of your card.
Infringement control - we also look forward to allow companies to give control to use their logo for their employees.
Incorporating yellow pages directory in form of business cards for people to grow their business.
