HANDS UP, DONT SHOOT!
A major problem in the United States is police brutality, and I believe a large reason for this is that many citizens are not aware of their rights when confronted by police. I would like to combat this issue by creating an app that easily provides users with their rights for common situations between police and citizens--being pulled over while driving, being stopped while walking outside, and police knocking on a citizen’s door--as well as a search tool to find the user’s rights on a specific topic. This way, the user can quickly view their rights for a common situation as they are in it or search for their rights on a specific topic. Because these rights would differ based on what state the user is in, the user will be able to enter the state they are in and get a state-specific page as a result. In order to be seen as an accurate source of information, especially to the police officers who may question an app, the user will be able to click on any given right to see the exact law that the right came from.
