Inspiration
Parents spend 2+ hours/week just tracking appointments — not doing them. No tool combines scheduling automation with parent coordination. Handled fixes that.
What it does
Handled syncs family and school calendars, auto-detects conflicts, and reschedules proactively — plus connects parents for carpools and pickups.
How we built it
Designed a conflict-detection algorithm for recurring family events and a parent network graph where every school and user that joins strengthens coordination for everyone.
Challenges we ran into
Recurring events interact in complex ways across family members. Making conflict detection feel effortless despite that complexity was the hardest part.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
4.6× CLV:CAC, a path to profitability at 55K customers, and a defensible whitespace no competitor owns: automation + parent network in one product.
What we learned
Parents need coordination infrastructure, not just a better calendar. School integrations create switching costs that pure consumer apps can't match.
What's next for Handled
Ship MVP → 500 users → school pilot integrations → pediatric booking → district-level B2B partnerships.
