Inspiration

We were inspired to make the hamster choir because of our love for hamsters.

What it does

You can plant new hamsters to your garden using coins. Every hamster, depending on their level, can generate a certain amount of coins each second. You can level up your hamsters by petting them, giving them food and water, and giving them a nice place to sleep. Every hamster you unlock sings a new part of one big song!

How we built it

We built Hamster choir garden using Electron, and the languages JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.

Challenges we ran into

During this Hackathon, we ran into a few challenges. First, we had trouble making sure hamster attributes were being correctly and consistently updated as the application was running. Another challenge was making sure all the audio for the hamsters was synchronized.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are really proud of our user interfaces.

What we learned

We learned a lot during this experience about coding in a professional setting, working with new frameworks and unfamiliar languages, coordinating with time constants, overcoming unexpected problems, and how much good teamwork and great communication help a project succeed!
