As a freelance developer, I was constantly bombarded with messages like:
“Where are we at?” “Can you give me an update?” “Is the project still on track?”
It didn’t matter how much work I had done — if the client couldn’t see it, it didn’t exist. That frustration was mutual. Clients felt lost, and I looked unprofessional despite doing everything right.
That’s where the idea of Prestatrack was born:
A delivery-style project tracker that shows progress in real time — like tracking a package, but for client work.
🧠 What it does Prestatrack is a SaaS platform that allows freelancers and studios to create a public tracking page for each project, with:
A clean timeline view showing live progress on key milestones
File uploads and version history
Validation buttons for client approvals
Auto-notifications via email or SMS
A mobile-friendly client interface that feels like Uber Eats or Colissimo
In short:
Prestatrack turns vague client relations into structured, confident collaborations.
🔧 How we built it Frontend: React + TailwindCSS
Backend: Supabase (PostgreSQL + Auth + File storage)
Auth: Supabase Magic Link & Role-based access
Email/SMS: Postmark + optional Twilio
Hosting: Vercel for frontend, Supabase for backend
Design: Figma (mobile-first + UX tested with real clients)
Built with Botly for rapid prototyping of core features
🧱 Challenges we ran into Designing an interface that both devs and non-tech clients could understand instantly
Balancing simplicity with flexibility — too many features kill the experience
Handling file upload + validation flow in a way that feels smooth for both parties
Ensuring real-time updates without bloating the stack or UI
🏆 Accomplishments we’re proud of Over 640 freelancers onboarded during closed beta
4.9/5 average user satisfaction
Projects managed with zero client follow-ups needed
Freelancers reporting “more peace of mind and fewer WhatsApp pings at 23h”
📚 What we learned Clients don’t want complex dashboards — they want reassurance and visibility
Freelancers feel 10× more confident when the communication looks professional
The sweet spot is not building “the most powerful tool” — it’s building the least painful one
🔮 What's next for Hamed Launching Prestatrack publicly with full self-service onboarding
