Halaqh Platform

Halaqh Platform is designed to facilitate the process of learning the Noble Quran, using AI and advanced speech recognition tools to get accurate results in a blink of an eye.

Inspiration

The spread of Covid-19 Virus over the globe has led to the shout down for many Quran institutions around the world to keep students safe. However, many students were unable to learn Quran because there is not any online platform that facilitate the learning process of Quran.

  • quick tool for Quran teachers. ## What it does It is a web based platform that has a user friendly interface. Using AI and speech recognition to evaluate student reciting of the Nobel Quran and assesses the teacher to evaluate his students. There are simply two types of accounts, teacher account which allows the user to create new Halaqh selecting the required Quran chapter and verses to be recited. After the creation of the Halaqh a unique code can be shared to allow students to join the Halaqh and recite Quran. After the student join the Halaqh by entering the code he can submit his reciting of Quran, an automatic result of his reciting generated by AI will be shown to the owner of the Halaqh as the student submit the reciting ## How we built it we have divided tasks between team members as follows:
  • Hisham Tabani: Frontend and UI developer
  • Faisal Abushanab: team leader and backend developer
  • Hayan Al-machnouk: AI Engineer
  • Firas Alahmadi: AI Expert ## Challenges we ran into
  • developing the idea was the first challenge that we had.
  • gathering the right team for this job.
  • we had to develop the platform within 3 weeks which required a lot of time and intensive work to be done.
  • applying speech recognition algorithms on Quran verses was one of the biggest challenges that we had
  • a short code that our AI specialists has spent a week to figure it out : ruby text = re.sub("[إأآا]", "ا", text) HINT: this code is for text transformation

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • we learned how to function as a team of developers and engineers to produce projects that benefits our society and serving The Nobel Quran.
  • each team member has acquired new skills that will help him in future. ## What we learned we learned that by teamwork, we can achieve what is considered impossible. ## What's next for Halaqh Platform Halaqh Platform needs a lot of developments as we are proud to launch the first official version of Halaqh platform, this project should not be stopped ever
