Inspiration
To work towards the homeless crisis of Edmonton and to give back to the community.
What it does
An Offline app that provides resources in an easy-to-read and obtainable way.
How we built it
Using Java, XML, QGis, and different libraries. Our first project using Android and we learned a lot of things about it.
Challenges we ran into
Incorporating a map and still making it offline was a challenge, something that we do not see happening usually. Therefore we spent a lot of time pulling this off.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Staying up all night and day to make something for the others was rewarding, and we are still amazed at how we managed to do this.
What we learned
We learned Android Development, from the basics to the intermediate level. We also learned about different libraries and where to use them.
What's next for HAL- Companion for the Homeless
The addition of more resources and an increase in quality awaits, which will make this MVP an actual usable product.
