Inspiration## Inspiration-My neighborhood lead a successful lobby against our local representative that resulted in the successful completion of a stalled road project that had been famously nicknamed "unnamed road". Our successful knowledge of budget allocation and who was responsible for the section got us a paved road.

What it does-Our platform equips the citizens with knowledge of projects in their area, amount of budget allocated and what the reported government status is, Hakikisha adds a citizen's voice to this allowing them to say the right status and voice their inputs and even rate quality of work done.

How we built it-We built this with an AI back end where we collected and synthesized data on local projects in 15 counties, we then created a site that outlines these projects on a Kenyan map where users can track budget, allocations and reported progress of county projects. The citizens can then report real progress on ground, voice their views and rate quality of work done.

Challenges we ran into-Obtaining data was not easy and also getting details of officials who are responsible for individual projects was a challenge. We however managed to obtain this for 16 projects

Accomplishments that we're proud of- My goal was to scale what we did for our neighborhood on a national level. Holding leaders accountable in delivery of projects enables citizen activism where it counts-taxpayer revenue

What we learned-Nothing is impossible when a small group of determined individuals are focused on a goal. Alot more needs to be done with the future of this projects. making these insights inspire action with the local citizens via social media to fuel grassroots activism

What's next for Hakikisha!- We want to derive actionable results. Our platform will do scheduled updates to make sure that results have been accomplished. We want to highlight individuals responsible for projects and paint a light on great delivery and also corruption. We also want to inspire action via social media with insights received from the ground.
