A user friendly digital money app reduces pilgrims' carries, prevents money lost, allows safe and easy transaction

Every year pilgrims all over the world visit the holy mosque to perform Hajj. However, not all of them are familiar with Saudi currency and some pilgrims need to carry a lot of cash or visa cards with them during Hajj to support their accommodations and purchases. Moreover, some of the pilgrims are old that may lose their cash belongings with the huge crowds during Hajj. So easy, fast, and safe transactions are needed during Hajj to reduce the amount of cash a pilgrim holds to eliminate money loss cases or the need for converting currencies. Moreover, products and service providers in Hajj area in some transactions may run out of cash change or may take a long time with customer payment process. According to that, we propose HajjWallet mobile solution that allows pilgrims to perform purchase transactions through the mobile phone without the need of holding cash. HajjWallet is an easy, fast, and safe transaction mobile solution that will serve pilgrims of the holy mosque. Moreover, the HajjWallet also serves all service and product providers in the hajj area in Makkah. It will facilitate the sale transactions in case of limited cash change, or the long payment process.

Through HajjWallet app, the Pilgrims only need to Scan the seller or the service provider QR code to perform a purchase transaction as every seller in hajj area would have a specific QR code. The pilgrims can charge his HajjWallet by either buying a charge card that has a QR code to scan in order to add credit to the wallet or by adding credit through his Visa card.

The HajjWallet App is an android app built using Android studio and MySQL database since it can be deployed easily in google play. However, it would be implemented later for iOS. We are proud that we came up with such an idea that would serve pilgrims and facilitate the purchase and sale transaction in Hajj Region. We drafted the interfaces and the database tables and implemented them. We learned through this activity teamwork, some fast programming hacks and solutions and project management.

The HajjWallet App can be in the future extended to cover not only the hajj region but tourism places also it can be linked in the future to block chain.
