Inspiration

Volunteers are one of the most important assets when it comes to providing a peace Hajj journey to the pilgrims, yet coordination between volunteers and organizations is still not " Live " enough for tasks volunteers handle.

What it does

Organize volunteering opportunities during Hajj season Provide a coordination channel Between organization and volunteers Give the opportunity to volunteers to report issues in specific locations.

How we built it

Hajj Squad is a responsive web application developed by ASP.net using Google Maps API

The Whole Story

Every year in Hajj season Volunteers come with Clear heart and good intentions to help the pilgrims who are coming from all over the world to perform one of the most important pillars of Islam.

Hajj Squad is a responsive web application trying to solve the problem of the lack of coordination between the organizations and the volunteers.

The application has three levels of users: 1- System Admin ( Ministry of Hajj and Umrah ) 2- Volunteers 3 - Companies

  • Companies and Governmental Organizations register in the system to post opportunities for the volunteers to participate in.

Providing opportunities

  • Each company can post many opportunities according to its field (e.g. Food distribution, Crowd management, Health, and emergencies ) -Providing the location and the detailed description about the opportunity will give the volunteer a clear idea about his/her role. -The volunteer will apply for the opportunity that suits him/her well and then wait for the approval of the opportunity provider

Award System

  • When a volunteer successfully participates and completes an opportunity the system will add points to the volunteer automatically
  • The Opportunity provider will be able to gift a title for the volunteer e.g. Health Expert, Crowd Control Master; which is going to make it easier for opportunity providers to accept and reject the volunteers in their opportunities

Live Instructions

Opportunity provider can give live instructions to the volunteers participating in the opportunities during the time of the task.

Live MapView

Opportunity provider can view where the volunteers are located to be able to give context-aware instructions.

Notifications -Notification about the opportunity will be pushed to the volunteers and the opportunity provided to keep them up to date
