Inspiration:

Most of the team members have an experience with hajj so they know the struggle that the pilgrims face and get tired of so we tried our best to help them and solve these conflicts. Technology can offer a solution to every problem in today's world. The team wants to utilize these technologies for the benefit of the pilgrims so they can perform the hajj process in the best possible way.

What it does:

The project provides multiple services and medical assistant for pilgrims including the none Arabic nor English speakers, which are the most common languages in Saudi Arabia, through the distributed media signage screens in the area of hajj. The screens can read the smart bracelets which have a unique QR code to every pilgrim. the panel reads the pilgrim information and then provides the following services: requesting a wheelchair, requesting a number of Zamzam water bottles, and Oduya. Also, it provides requesting an assistant from medics, volunteer, security guard.

How we built it:

we used multiple languages and linked them together, we used JavaScript, android studio, apache, javascript, google maps html5, CSS3, and Cordova.

Challenges we ran into:

Team members have different experiences with different platforms, therefore it was a challenge to collaborate and link the apps together. In addition to the wide scope of the project that had to be executed in a limited time frame. In addition to that, non of the team members knew each other prior to the event.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

Building the skeleton of the platform we aim to provide and some of its services. Excellence team-work and collaboration. Participating in the largest Hackathon with the possibility of establishing a platform that benefits all pilgrims.

What we learned:

Teamwork. Knowledge sharing. Brainstorming. Business modelling and working under pressure.

What's next for Hajeej:

A lot of endless future plans.
