Inspiration
Motivate more people to donate hair to those who are suffering from some sort of hair loss.
What it does
The map function enables the user to find local hair cut locations where they can donate their hair. This gives them the opportunity to help someone in need who is struggling with hair issues while the user earns a reward every time they make a donation.
How I built it
Used AppSheet to build the App and imported excel files for the data (Map Locations, Rewards, and Donations).
Challenges I ran into
Our team which is composed of two members has no previous experience developing apps and using resources to do so. We had trouble finding a no-code App building platform that is user friendly for first time App creations. Even though AppSheet is user friendly we still had issues understanding how to use it for our App. Time-management was also a big challenge because we did not take into account troubleshooting issues we would run into the process. Also, some ideas we wanted to add to the App and we were not able to do so. We had an idea of adding a QR code to scan the rewards, as well as designing a logo. However, we ran into problems when trying to incorporate these two things into the App.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The App is functioning and for the most part signifies the purpose of what we wanted to create.
What I learned
We learned not to be afraid to reach out for help and to try to accomplish the task regardless of how little experience we have.
What's next for Hair Gift
Continue working on it to see if we can get all of our ideas incorporated into the app.
