the result from our project

Inspiration

When we knew the topic of this event, we are all really excited to do the tasks. But there are many existing applications for Work From Home. But we noticed that some of the scheduling systems are not that intuitive and easy to use.

What it does

We want to build a simple calendar with features including adding events such as lectures or other tutorial classes notification and having a to-do list with assignments from subjects.

How we built it

The UI and UX design were first collaboratively draw using Figma. We had few design initially, then we chose one as our final UI decision. We discussed the main features for the website and the features to implement first. Then the website is developed using Javascript, html and css. And each of us programmed a part and merged all together using git.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge we had in doing this project was implementing web components, despite we came up with a decent plan (mockup), we couldn’t implement fully functioning complex components such as popup, drag and drop and calendar in time due to our lack of experience in HTML/CSS/js.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Nevertheless, we haven’t finished the project, as web dev newbies, we are proud that we attempted to make some complex web components, we believe that by taking this hackiethon as an experience, we will achieve much better results in the future

What we learned

What we have learned Don’t dream too big; be realistic. 2 days was not nearly enough to comfortably complete our project, and we have realized it may be better to deliver a complete product that is average, rather than delivering an idea that is not executable.

What's next for haha calendar schedule application

What is next for haha calendar schedule application Other than finishing it, we envision our application to be the single hub for helping people staying productive where our users will only need to open this one page to access all their productivity tools. So, a direction we may further develop our application would be to add in different features such as white noise generator, task timer, multi-user event planning, etc.
