We were inspired by the tractability of the problem and real-life applications of our open quantum system solutions in superconducting qubits, an area of high interest.
We confronted everything from trivial code compilation errors to difficulties understanding circuit QED and open quantum system concepts. Overall, we loved the opportunity to apply what we knew to unfamiliar challenges and graduate level physics topics.
