Inspiration
We wanted to explore a new software and Twilio was an interesting API that allowed us to be flexible in our planning.
What it does
Users can text a Hacky Sac Smart AI, that will interpret their message and do a variety of tasks like clocking them in or out, updating them on their earned wages, and get encouraging messages. From a web portal the user can also set up text reminders of their normal clock in and clock out hours.
How we built it
We used an HTML page to allow the admin to add and remove employees to the payroll. Then, using Twilio and Python, we notify the employees when it is time to clock in and clock out via SMS. When they leave, the employee can notify another Python script which will tell them the amount of money they earned in that pay period.
