Inspiration

We wanted to create something that would help people with current issue the world is facing. This issue is the Corona Virus.

What it does

All the people who are contaminated by the Corona Virus enter the places where they were recently, and a precise time they were there. Then, when a healthy user goes on our website, he will also input the places he has been at recently, and our program will see if the user was at the same place and at a similar time as people who have the Corona Virus. Hence, we will be able to tell the user if he should urgently see a doctor or not so that he doesn't get contaminated, and so that he doesn't contaminate other people. The second part of our website creates a heatmap showing the most frequented places by contaminated people based on the inputs of our users.

Challenges we ran into

This was our first hackathons, we had some problems with git, django and designing projects' structre. It was quite challenging to connect correctly to Google Maps API. It wasn't easy for us to understand how Django cooperates with JS files, formes and databases. We also didn't manage to end our project entirely before the submission deadline, but we will do that in a short perspective.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learning lots about Django and creating web apps. We're glad we connected our website with Google Maps API. PS. Winning plank challenge!

What we learned

Lots of things.

What's next for HackTheCorona

Finishing the project, and going viral!
