Inspiration

As highschool students who have participated in hackathons before, we felt the need for a resource that will better prepare us for hackathons.

What it does

We used a combination of lessons, and an interactive game to help users learn more about time management, decision making, and more when it comes to hackathons.

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS, and JS to create a website that holds all of our information.

Challenges we ran into

We found that the time constraints of this project were the most challenging, along with using HTML and CSS as we are new coders.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the website we were able to create of in such a short time. We also like the visual, and functional capabilities of our cite.

What we learned

We learned more about HTML, CSS, and JS syntax. We also learned about the different challenges that come with building a website.

What's next for HacksLogic

We would like to create a mentoring service to aid our users further in learning the ropes when it comes to hackathons. We would also like to further refine our website.

Our recording did not pick up the voice of one of our group members. Here is the transcript of what he said: This game encourages students to test their knowledge and follows Tim's path through a hackathon. The user will be making decisions on what is the best course of action out of the two given options through each question. Through this activity users will get to apply what they have learned in the lessons to different situations and instances that are meant to simulate some of the things they would experience in a hackathon. This will help prepare and familiarize them with how a hackathon works as well as give them some ideas as to how they can go about creating a successful project within their given timeframe. Through this game we hope to eliminate some of the nervous and unsure energy that we have felt as people competing in hackathons so that people who use HacksLogic are able to get a fun learning experience out of their next hackathon.

We hope you can look past this
