HackShark: Anthony & Noel
Inspiration
Throughout the development of this project, we were driven by a strong motivation to explore new technologies and deliver a seamless user experience for our application's audience.
What it does
Our application is designed to provide personalized email subscriptions on a weekly basis, catering to users' specific interests. Each week, users receive an email containing the title, abstract, and a link to a research paper of their choice.
How we built it
We built the frontend using Next.js and employed Node.js, Express.js, and Postgres for the backend. To automate the email delivery, we utilized Mailgun and implemented Cron jobs.
Challenges we ran into
Deploying the database posed a significant challenge among the various obstacles we encountered during the development process.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One of the notable accomplishments of this project is the successful implementation of email delivery based on users' interests.
What we learned
Troubleshooting and resolving challenges related to SQL, further strengthening our skills in SQL.
