About the Project Inspiration As someone with a background in psychology and a passion for storytelling, I was inspired to create NJ Blogs to give a voice to diverse ideas and personal growth journeys. I wanted to build a platform where content from across the world—on topics like personal development, mental health, wellness, life hacks, technology, food, and finance—could be shared in an engaging and meaningful way.
How I Built It I made this app by teaching myself through YouTube videos. I had no formal background in computer science. I learned everything—from design to publishing—by watching tutorials and experimenting. My determination and curiosity were my biggest tools. With no professional coding experience, I used java,Kotlin, android studio, online resources, and community help to build and launch my app successfully.
What I Learned I learned how to:
Convert a website into an Android app
Use AI and APIs to enhance app content
Optimize the user interface for various devices
Work with the Google Play Console and fix publishing issues
Maintain user privacy and meet app safety standards
Challenges Faced
As a self-taught developer, understanding app store policies and SDK errors was initially overwhelming
Navigating UI design with no tech background required extra effort
I faced delays due to limitations in time, tools, and budget, but I overcame them with persistence and community support
NJ Blogs is not just an app—it’s a reflection of personal growth, self-learning, and the power of resilience.
