Inspiration

Hackathons can be intense, fast-paced events that challenge participants to create innovative solutions within a short amount of time. One of the biggest challenges that participants face is managing their time effectively to achieve their project goals. To address this need, we developed a prototype of HackPlan, a time management tool specifically designed for hackathons.

What it Does

HackPlan is a prototype web application that helps hackathon participants manage their time and prioritize tasks. It allows users to input project goals, deadlines, and tasks, and generates a schedule that helps them stay on track. The prototype also includes basic integration with collaboration tools like Slack and Trello, providing basic reminders and notifications to help participants stay focused and avoid distractions.

How We Built It

The HackPlan prototype was developed using modern web development technologies such as React, Node.js, and MongoDB. The application is deployed on a cloud hosting platform, making it easily accessible to users around the world.

Challenges We Faced

During the development of the HackPlan prototype, I faced several challenges, including the integration with external collaboration tools like Slack and Trello. Despite these challenges, we were able to develop a functioning prototype that demonstrates the potential of the tool.

What We Learned

Through developing the HackPlan prototype, we gained valuable experience in project management, time management, and web development technologies. We also gained insights into the challenges of developing a tool specifically designed for hackathons.

What's Next for HackPlan

In the future, we plan to further develop the HackPlan prototype, adding more features such as team management and advanced reporting tools. We also plan to expand the integration with other collaboration tools to provide a more seamless experience for users.
