Inspiration

Minority populations face both economic and educational disparities. From high school, to college and after. We recognize this as a huge problem and decided to offer a solution

What it does

The goal of head-start is to support and empower minority college students, especially women of color, to get a head start in their early careers and discover the best career path for them by providing mentorship, career development, and education courses for our future professional leaders. We recognize that education is very expensive and for that reason, we have tailored this experience to be free for our targeted users. Additionally, since this is a platform for only students from underrepresented groups, recruiters have a more targeted audience and can directly source out potential candidates for roles at their company.

How we built it

This application was built using HTML/CSS, ReactJs and the material design react-bootstrap library.

What's next for HackOverflow

We hope to expand this program to high schools. We are also interested in having companies sponsor the program and hire students that were part of it.
