Inspiration
We organized an hackathon back in January. There are various tasks to make a hackathon successful from Assigning Mentors, Distributing Inventories to Managing the Dinner. These tasks must be done effectively in order to have life long memories in the Hackathon.
So, we have come up with a complete Hackathon Management Platform, HackOps which handles all your manual hassles and creates a enjoyable hackathon to the organizers as well.
What it does
HackOps provide a comprehensive lists of all the upcoming hackathons registered in our platform. The hackers can get all the information's about the hackathons in one place.
The hackers then selects the hackathons and registers for the hackathons. Our system will send them a uniquely identifiable username and password which will be required to access the dashboard.
The dashboard consists of the team information's, get the notifications and alerts of the upcoming events or major announcements. The dashboard will also have the information's of the Mentors with their availability times.
How we built it
We gathered all the tasks that needs to be done in the hackathons by the organizers and created the flow of the hackathon in terms of technality from the perspective of a hacker and a organizer.
Then we started working in the UI part of the platform, parallelly working on building our APIs. We then incorporated all the changes to build a complete solutions.
Challenges we ran into
We were facing difficulties integrating multiple platforms into our system. We failed to incorporate the QRs into our platform.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Integrated all the components (backend, frontend, APIs) into our platform
- Learned new skills
- Team collaborations and bonding
What we learned
- Azure Web Apps
- Django deployment
- Nextjs Configurations
- Design Thinking Process
- Idea Generation and Taking into the actions
What's next for HackOps
- Incorporate the QR based identification system
- Inventory Management
- Integrating API request and disbursement system
