Inspiration
I was inspired by the hackathon itself. I wanted to make a story game like the Legend of Zelda, but something like that is too complicated to make in 9 hours. I wanted to make something simple and easy, that could also be used to learn.
What it does
It's a game where you must attack evil computers that have been hacked by an evil highschooler. The way to do so is to "un-hack" them. You do this by answering Java prompts correctly. Getting them incorrect will cause you to lose life.
How I built it
It was made using Java and Eclipse.
Challenges I ran into
I ran into several challenges such as minor bugs, but they were all stupid mistakes. I never ran into anything that gave me any real trouble.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am actually pretty proud of the concept of the program and the graphics I was able to make by hand.
What I learned
I learned how I could add images in java, which was something I wanted to do for a LONG time.
What's next for Hackman
Well I'm not sure if I will develop the project further yet. If I do, I will polish it and add more prompts. I might add some sound too! Also, the Java prompts aren't completely correctly coded, so I may redo those until they work properly. Also my images don't work.
