Online scams target students, families, and everyday users through fake job offers, suspicious links, and emotional blackmail. We built TrustShield AI to help people verify potential threats before trusting them or sending money.

What it does

TrustShield AI analyzes suspicious messages, URLs, screenshots, and documents to identify potential scam indicators and provide risk explanations and safer next steps. It also focuses on fake internship offers and family emergency scams.

How we built it

We built a mobile-friendly full-stack web application using React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Node.js, and Express. The frontend communicates with the backend to analyze submitted content and display risk indicators and safety recommendations.

Challenges and learning

A key challenge was creating a consistent, easy-to-understand experience across different input types. We learned how to connect frontend and backend components, validate user inputs, and present cybersecurity guidance clearly.

What's next

We aim to improve detection accuracy, integrate more reliable verification sources, and expand protection against emerging online scams.
