Inspiration
Well, we were wondering what makes a winning hackathon project. So we crunched numbers with data from devpost to see the difference between the winning projects and losing projects.
What it does
Judges your hackathon project to see whether or not it will win.
How I built it
From the projects on devpost, it was found projects that used hardware and were made with Ruby or C++ had a greater chance of winning. Projects that had 5 or more languages also makes a project have a greater chance of winning. We trained a machine learning algorithm with thousands of past hackathon projects and then we built a front end with AWS and html. There's also a form online where you can submit your project idea and it will immediately tell you whether or not your project is good or not. (The link can be found here)
Challenges I ran into
Working with machine learning, since it was new to my team
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Being able to judge people's programs
What I learned
Machine learning
What's next for Hacking the Hackathon
Making the machine learning algorithm have a higher probability of determining whether or not it is a winning project idea
