Inspiration

Inspiration for Hacking Jamming Detector and Auto Evader:

The project is inspired by the growing need for secure and resilient communication systems in critical sectors like defense, space, smart cities, and autonomous vehicles. With the rise of cyber warfare, signal jamming, and GPS spoofing, there’s a pressing demand for systems that can detect interference and respond autonomously. Technologies used in military-grade stealth drones, satellites, and battlefield communication systems have motivated the creation of a compact, smart system that can instantly detect jamming or hacking attempts and shift to a secure channel or path, ensuring uninterrupted, real-time operation

What it does

The system detects unauthorized hacking attempts, signal jamming, or interference in real time. Once a threat is detected, it automatically switches to a secure communication channel or alternate route to maintain uninterrupted operation. It ensures safe, autonomous evasion from attacks by using intelligent algorithms, helping systems like drones, vehicles, or IoT devices stay connected, secure, and responsive in hostile environments.

How we built it

We built the system using a combination of RF signal analysis modules, microcontrollers (like Arduino/Raspberry Pi), and wireless transceivers (Wi-Fi, GSM, or LoRa). We integrated signal strength monitoring and frequency anomaly detection algorithms to identify jamming or hacking attempts. When interference is detected, the system automatically triggers evasive actions, such as switching frequencies, re-routing data, or activating an alert system. The setup includes machine learning logic to improve detection accuracy over time and is tested in controlled jamming simulations to ensure reliability

Challenges we ran into

  1. Accurate Detection: Differentiating between normal signal drops and real jamming/hacking attempts was difficult.
  2. Real-Time Response: Ensuring fast and reliable automatic evasion without delays was a major technical challenge.
  3. Hardware Limitations: Limited range and processing power of microcontrollers restricted advanced signal processing.
  4. False Positives: The system initially triggered evasion during harmless interference, requiring fine-tuning of thresholds.
  5. Integration Complexity: Coordinating multiple modules (RF sensors, control logic, communication units) took extensive debugging.
  6. Security Protocols: Implementing secure fallback communication channels under attack condtions

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. Successful Real-Time Detection: Achieved accurate identification of jamming and hacking attempts in real environments.
  2. Autonomous Evasion Mechanism: Designed and implemented a smart auto-evading response that switches channels seamlessly.
  3. Compact and Scalable Design: Built a lightweight system suitable for drones, IoT devices, and mobile platforms.
  4. Low Power Operation: Optimized power usage, making it ideal for battery-powered applications.
  5. Prototype Validation: Tested in simulated attack scenarios with high reliability and minimal false triggers.
