Inspiration

The idea for the HackHub portal was born out of a desire to create a vibrant and centralized space for coding club. I wanted to build a platform where members could easily find information about upcoming events, revisit past activities, and connect with the organizers. My goal was to foster a strong community and encourage collaboration among coders.

What it does

  • Serves as the main portal for the coding club.
  • Provides detailed information on upcoming events.
  • Showcases past events with photos.
  • Introduces the organizers.
  • Includes a join form for new members and a contact form for inquiries.
  • Features a media gallery with videos and photos from activities.

How we built it

  • Developed using React.
  • Implemented a responsive dark theme with Tailwind CSS. -Organized into distinct components for events, club information, and contact features.
  • Utilized React Router for smooth page transitions.

Challenges we ran into

  • Ensured text readability by balancing color contrasts and using shadows.
  • Integrated media in a functional and visually appealing way.
  • Adjusted layout for optimal scrolling and navigation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Achieved a cohesive and polished design.
  • Successfully integrated media with smooth navigation and a dark theme.
  • Addressed readability and layout design challenges effectively.

What we learned

  • Gained insights into React and Tailwind CSS.
  • Improved skills in managing state across components and optimizing user experience.
  • Solved complex design challenges related to readability and layout.

What's next for HackHub portal

  • Plan to add interactive features such as a forum for member discussions and a blog section for coding tips and news.
  • Aim to enhance the event management system with RSVP capabilities and notifications.
