We created a game using Unity and C#. This game prompts the user to indicate what ingredients they have and then our mascot, PawPaw (Google Gemini), responds with what foods items that they can bake with those ingredients. PawPaw has two features, a "Chat with PawPaw" and a "Bake with PawPaw." We decided to make PawPaw a talking cat because we all really like cats! For some of us, this hackathon was our first time working in these coding languages, so there was a big learning curve, but we all got the hang of it as we played around with it. We were inspired by some past projects that we've made in the past, and we thought that it would be a cool idea to combine some features of our projects that we've done. For example, a few of us have worked with Unity and created games, and the others have worked with APIs and integrated chatbots in the code, so we wanted to combine those two aspects. We faced many challenges regarding the GitHub pushing and pulling, which caused us to lose a lot of time because we lost some code in the process. This portion was really frustrating for us because we were already on a time-crunch, and we just felt more pressured every time something went wrong. But, overall, we worked well together as we're all Computational Media majors, so we split up the art and coding between our group members, and everything worked out as planned.
