Inspiration: As first time hackers, we wanted a way to establish a team without having to go through the tedious task of going through multiple "application-like" posts/messages one by one, which sometimes felt more like a job application than finding potential teammates.

What it does: Users can swipe left or right on other hackathon participants to find potential teammates. After matching and chatting, if both users want to potentially form a team, they can activate a fun proximity-based game (only available when the hackathon event actually starts, for privacy/safety measures) that helps them find each other within a crowded hackathon venue.

Challenges we ran into: One of the biggest issue we've ran into is how to protect user sensitive information, such as location. We need to make sure that those datas are not stored longer than necessary, cannot be accessed by unauthorized users, and is only available when both parties explicitly consent to shared location. We need to incorporate a refresh token authentication so that even if user account is hacked then the location accessed through that account is not available for more than 15 minutes.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: We’re proud of our comic-book interface: interactive, animated, and inspired by “Spider-Tracer” and heroes without copying it. Behind it is a full flow from profile to swipe, match, squad chat, and balanced team, live on Vercel with a Neon database. Our radar mini-game helps teammates meet using mutual requests, 15-minute sessions, and approximate “far / closer / nearby” proximity, so it helps people meet and never tracks them.
