Inspiration
Hacker's community 💻
What it does
It is a portfolio template designed so that hackers around the world can show the mark they have left in the tech world.
How we built it
We use HTML and CSS for the interface. JS, Python and Flask for the backend. Flask served up both the page, locally, as well being utilized to serve up the images, which are stored in a separate folder. In addition, Flask serves the two main scripts from a separate folder as well.
Challenges we ran into
Styling the structure of the project was hard. It took us most of the time.
Flask was very new to everyone on the team and it took us a bit to understand and adapt to it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The product itself, we really liked it and we enjoyed developing it. We learned too much, from good development practices to a new framework for us which is Flask.
What we learned
- Good development practices
- How to build our commit messages
- Git/GitHub
- Flask
- More about HTML, CSS and JS
- Remote work
- Make and review Pull Request
- Make Issues on GitHub
What's next for Hacker's Portfolio
In the home page section, we want to build the image into it with HTML and CSS and make it functional with Flask and Python. So when the page opens, write word for word on it.
- Specifically, we wish to add JQuery or React to add more interactivity to the page. We want hackers to customize it as they wish.
- We wish to add more sections, utilizing Flask to serve up these sections in more pages.
