"WHO KNOWS ANDROID!?", "I'M LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS IOS!" These are things you hear being shouted by a large group of people at the beginning of a hackathon because they don't have a team. We were fed up with the inefficiencies of finding a team at a hackathon and decided that there had to be an easier way than this.
How it works
Through HackChat, users can find hackers also searching for a team at certain hackathons based on their project of interest, such as Android development, iOS development, web development, or design. Using the Moxtra API/SDK we have allowed users to chat amongst others also searching for hackers with the same interests to be a part of their team. HackChat is not only a way for users to connect before a hackathon, but also during. The forums section of HackChat was made as a way for users to have a messaging feed to talk to other hackers through. Each hackathon has it's very own forum section, so users will stay connected with fellow hackers.
Challenges I ran into
Implementing the Moxtra API/SDK and getting it to work had been very difficult.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The UI is nice and sleek, the moxtra api allows users to chat through our app.
