Inspiration:

Our team believes that everyone should have the right to be financially independent. In this day and age, money is what makes the world run. As of 2024, around 50% of Americans have a basic understanding of financially literacy. Being financially literate is a key component of becoming financially independent. Students, like us, and the less fortunate are prone to being financially illiterate. Our team also values equality, that everybody should get paid the same amount for the same work someone else does. As of 2024, women earn an average of 85% of what men earn. Life is short, but that doesn't mean it has to be unpleasant. Anyone can change their life.

What ID Does:

We built an app that helps you easily understand your cash flow. Ledgerly allows you to see how much you are spending monthly and visually shows it to you through graphs. It can calculate your monthly income and build you a budget to set a goal for how much money you should save based on your income. It features an ai that allows you to clarify anything confusing about your cash flow statements and can help you build a budget. Ledgerly has a women's empowerment feature that lets women see if their salary matches the average salary for that position.

Challenges We Ran Into:

Some challenges that we ran into were that our graphs would not sync with our ledger table. For example, if we input 20 dollars as an expense, our graphs would not reflect that. Another challenge was that whenever we added money to the ledger, the total balance would not change to reflect that also.

What's Next For Us:

We want to expand where we want to teach people about other things, instead of just the importance of saving money. We want to teach people how investing works and how interest can affect everything in our daily lives.

Accomplishment:

We are proud as a team to introduce the wo men's empowerment feature, where we think it could make a major difference to help combat the gender pay gap. Although many apps exist, we feel that ours, combined with AI, is the best way to achieve financial independence.
