Inspiration
We wanted to create a simple 2D game, which allows the user to interact with the software but also hands off at some point. In order to do this, we created an Idle game like a cookie clicker.
What it does
It is supposed to be a sort of Clicker Hero where you must click an enemy and kill it. You have to kill a certain amount of enemies to reach the next stage. Once you reach the next stage, you get more money but the enemy gets more health. Once entry 10 levels, there is a boss.
How we built it
We build it in Unity.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into a lot of challenges. In the end, our program didn't end up working, and the complexity of the different buttons and functions hindered us from finishing. Also, the program didn't work as it was supposed to in the end due to the program completely breaking down. One aspect of the function was messed up, but like the domino effect, it broke every other aspect of the game. It took us around 3 hours to debug it a little, to at least make it runnable. It doesn't work but we managed to get it to run.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are glad that we at least were able to get something out, even if it is not complete at all.
What we learned
We learned about the amount of skill and time we need for these sorts of programs. It is important to keep a plan before going into anything and try to follow that plan in order to keep the team organized. We learned how to make sure every function works ONE AT A TIME because too many functions can cause errors.
What's next for Hackathon Submission
It will try to be fixed, but if not, there will be a remake of a better version of the game.
