Inspiration
What inspires me to create this project is to help multinational companies and companies with branches in different part of the world, to help decision makers, shareholders and investors know which branch is making more sales than the other, also know the product line that sells the most and which location a particular product sells the most. And also know the strength of your sales force, and how to reward them base on their sales in terms of revenue.
What it does
It has a slicer of periods(month and year), once the slicer for a particular period is clicked, it gives you an overview of activities done in that period, ranging from sales in category, sales in region, top 7 sub categories of product sold and top 5 Sales rep for that period.
How we built it
Got the data set from excel, clean up the data using power query, create a relationship using Power BI model, then write some few DAX measures. I also included Calculated column to determine the range of sales by quantity i.e (Small, Medium, Big and Large). Then a soothing visualization was created which encompasses all the data evenly represented.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges I ran into was trying to use tool tip to create a summary category of product that was sold at a particular period in the Sales Icon once the cursor is placed on it, I couldn't get it right.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
That through this Power Platform Bootcamp I have been able to master one of the tools which is Power BI, hoping to increase my knowledge in Power App and Power Automate so I could be able to incorporate it into Power BI.
What we learned
I have learnt Power App and Power Automate and most especially Power BI, I find Power BI interesting because I already have a good foundation in Microsoft Excel, so i was able to grasp it quickly.
What's next for Hackathon Project( sales data of different branch)
Creating a power automate project that helps generate data into power bi routinely.
