Inspiration

As someone that participated more than 78 hackathons in 10 years of active participation, I keep finding myself spending way too much time to build pitch deck.

While having a great pitch deck doesn't necessary resulted a win and pitch deck is something that doesn't add much value to your project but it may influence your chances of winning. With the thought of pitch deck might increase 5% chance of winning, teams often spend hours building it in a 24hours hackathon. Deep down, as a technical person, I would like to spend time on coding than working on a pitch deck. What if, and AI can build the pitch deck for me instead?

Your time should be spend on hacking not deck building!

What it does

By using generative AI (Google Gemini 1.5) and Canva platform, with a simple prompt, PitchHack will build your hackathon pitch deck for you.

It also has AI advisor feature where you can try to validate your idea with the problem statement you are trying to solve.

Our AI model has been given custom instruction based on my 10 years experience as a hackathon participant, mentor, judge, advisor and organiser.

Our vision is to have PitchHack to generate the pitch deck for you so that you can focus on hacking great product.

At current version, it may not be able to replace your pitch deck entirely, but it can already serve as a base version that can save you hours of designing and strategising your pitch deck. On top of that, if you are new to building a pitch deck, it will use proven best hackathon pitch deck format. It can also do simple market research to get statistic that is relevant to your hack idea.

How we built it

We use Google Gemini 1.5 for generative AI, Canva SDK for slides, and Pexel API for stock images

Challenges we ran into

Canva dev resource on JWK doesn't really work and we are out of luck.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Able to solve the problem that we faced for a decade long. In fact, we are using PitchHack to generate the pitch deck for this hackathon!

  1. Enhance the research capability of the AI.
  2. Produce a better quality content for the slides.
  3. Include suggestion for the presenter on using the slide on stage.
  4. Better animation and design to increase wow factor.
  5. Autogen to self auditing its own work.
  6. Fine-tuning the model with actual hackathon winning deck
