Inspiration

I was inspired to create this project because I was aware of the harmful chemicals in some fabrics such as polyester, rayon, nylon. Organic Cotton is one of the most sustainable fabrics because it lacks harmful chemicals that are detrimental to our health. I wanted to help create shopping for clothes that are made of 100% or Organic Cotton easier

What it does

My app filters out products from Amazon.com that aren't made of 100% or Organic Cotton.

How we built it

I built this using Amazon Scrape API, and displayed the data using Svelte and Javascript. The first step was to access data from Amazon.com and sort it out. The second step was to create a UI that would take this data and then display it. Once the data was retrieved, I would have to display it on my app.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge that I ran into was access the Amazon API because most websites including Amazon have security that prevents you from access their data easily.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of the app I created because it can be useful to many people who are striving towards a better and more sustainable style of living.

What we learned

In developing this app I learned how to use Svelte to display data and I learned how to use access API using Javascript without requiring an API key.

What's next for Hackathon

I plan to further develop this app by implementing an AI to create an "AI-Recommended" feature for each product.
