Many frustrating hours of trying to figure out what to do with a group of friends and ending up not doing anything.

What it does

It connects people to events in the area and allows members of your friend group to individually vote for what they would like to do. The event with most 'yes' votes at the end of the voting period can be confirmed, and a text message is sent through Twilio to notify everyone who voted 'yes' that the plan is on.

How we built it

Eagle and I pair programmed the entire back-end, while Brendan worked on the whole front-end.

Challenges we ran into

Back-end logic (mostly asynchronous calls), and front-end formatting (mostly centering)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of everything we built. Also, Eagle and I stayed up all night, which was hard.

What we learned

How to approach asynchronous calls better. Sleep is important but not necessary.

What's next for evie

User Profiles, web scraper to collect data, promoting events ($$$), group chat, google calendar reminders, more Twilio SMS use, optimize for more phones, app store.
