Inspiration
We're often stuck in traffic, therefore we wanted a simple solution that could help us all.
What it does
You can choose a public parking spot in Montreal that isn't already reserved. Then you need to complete a form with your name and the total time of reservation. The parking is then yours. We have a raspberryPi that simulates a sensor detecting your car once it arrives at the parking spot. When it arrives, it tells the server and the spot is confirmed.
How we built it
We built the web app with MEAN stack. We built the raspberryPi module with Python and Raspberian OS.
Challenges we ran into
Converting and reading the data was complicated at first, because they weren't clean. But we managed to put it into a mLab DB. We never worked before with a RaspberryPi.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of having a complete product that works and is scalable.
What we learned
We learned to increase our performance, by better cleaning and reaching our data and by eliminating our dead code.
What's next for hackathon
Add deep learning and cryptocurrency to market our app.
