Inspiration: Our inspiration for this project came from the lethal and severe threats that E-Waste poses to the environment. The everlasting and persistent threat and improper disposal of electronics, which builds e-waste on the earth, serves as a hazard for the globe and we would like to solve this issue as it leads to a better future and a great beautiful and healthy tomorrow.
What it does: The Eco AI model that we built checks and verifies the type of garbage that was scanned or input in the AI system, and accurately distinguishes this type of garbage and gives the user proper disposal methods of the certain type of garbage.
How we built it: We built this Eco AI model with Javascript, HTML, CSS, and TensorFlow. We also used Google Teachable Machine to incorporate machine learning/AI in our system.
Challenges we ran into: Some challenges that we ran were that our recycling tips weren't updating dynamically and the image preview was erronous.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: Our program and AI model accurately and precisely works and effieciently educates the public on the proper disposal methods of a certain type of garbage or trash that an individual may encounter.
What we learned: We learned that machine learning was more difficult than we initially thought of. We also learned on how to incorporate different languages together to create and execute a specific function.
What's next for Hackathon: We would like to be better educated on the field of computer science and attempt to be a better IT specialist in the future.
