This detector could potentially help people recognize bias in the media they consume and help them make more informed decisions as a result.
What it does
This article reads the raw text of a news publication and then predicts the political leaning of the article.
How we built it
We took a .csv file of ten thousand various new articles and their known political bias and trained a predictive model to guess the political leaning of the article based on the text provided a url or raw text.
Challenges we ran into
-Making the file give a consistent result after training. -Running the chrome extention.

What's next for Political Bias Detector
-Using a larger data set could make the model more accurate -Highlighting politically motivated text could help make the political bias of the article more clear
