Inspiration
We first wanted to make a digital assistant which is playfull and fun but we quickly realized that it still is the same dry topic all over again. So we instead looked at the challenge from an Aspect of how to "rebrand" the Idea of Investing and getting Consulting in Investments in general.
What it does
It shows in a playful way how tricky investments can be, and how much can change from outside sources. We also have some "News-Events" which have a certain chance to be a dud (change nothing at all) to also show that sometimes things can also be hyped/untrustworthy. All of this goes to show how important it is to have a trustworthy partner managing the portfolio for me.
How I built it
We pivoted into the idea after spending 5 hours on the digital assistant. We split up in 2 smaller teams one for the backend/crypto and the other for the frontend.
Challenges I ran into
Making the game run smoothly and yet giving the player the feeling that they change things/have an impact. Also in general the challenge itself was not easy. It was also the first time for all of us working with Ethererum/Smart-Contracts which was not an easy task to set up.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The Blockchain, the gameplay, the idea behind the game
What I learned
How to work with ethereum, general gameplay mechanics
What's next for Hackantons Smart Assistant
More Events so that the game grows bigger and make the onboarding into the "real" consulting a bit more prominent and stronger
